About
"A gentle torrent of talent"
Ra has an MA(Hons) in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. Her playful relationship with language is reflected in the lyrical content of her original songs, as she strives for sincerity without taking herself too seriously.

Her musical inspirations include The Smiths, Talking Heads, Billie Eilish, Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie, Lana Del Rey and St Vincent.

From her initial forays into public performance - fronting an alt-rock band at the age of sixteen - to regularly touring prestigious venues around the world, Ra has established a reputation as a convincing and compelling performer, capable of capturing intimate audiences and crowds of thousands alike.

Ra's debut EP 'Strange Love' (2019) was created as a means of implementing and improving her skills in solo production, recording, mixing and graphic design, alongside her natural talents for writing and performing.
Six years later, in her first original full length album 'Pretty In Motion' (2025), these skills - now matured - are heightened by a host of talented guest artists, musicians and engineers. Click here to listen to the album on digital, CD and vinyl.

Ra is also known for collaborating with Billboard-charting electronic synthwave artist ALEX on a number of successful singles. Their first release ‘Broadway’ has several million streams on Spotify and was featured in season two of Netflix's 'Locke & Key'. Other collaborations between ALEX & Ra include 'Dream Machine', 'Outlaw', 'BURN DOWN THE DISCO' and 'ANAESTHESIA'.
Ra has been a member of the internationally-acclaimed Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain since 2019. She has toured with the Orchestra across the UK, China, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Ireland, Italy, Canada, and the USA. She has performed with them live on BBC Radio 3, been featured in TV segments including Sky Arts and Channel 4 News, produced and edited their 'Ukulele Lockdown' video series, and starred in their 'Ukulele World Service' online pay-per-view concerts.

Following the popularity of her eclectic and elaborately self-produced multi-track YouTube videos, Ra released a selection of covers - ranging from The Cure to Eminem - as the digital album 'Happy In The Haze of a Drunken Hour' in 2021. Her YouTube channel also features original songs, music videos, parodies, bass medleys and tour vlogs.
